Hull City Women
Hull City Ladies, nicknamed the Tigresses, were formed in 2001 — and though they share the black-and-amber colours and tiger identity of the city's professional men's club, they are a wholly independent club with no formal affiliation to Hull City AFC. They began in the Yorkshire & Humberside league and climbed through the North East women's pyramid, winning their division in 2006/07 to reach the Northern Combination. After some up-and-down seasons they rebuilt to establish themselves in the higher tiers of the FA Women's National League. Based in Hull, they play their home games a little across the Humber at the Easy Buy Stadium in Barton-upon-Humber, and remain one of the leading independent women's clubs in the East Riding.
