Leicester City Women

King Power Stadium · Leicester
8th · Super League Two Subway Players Cup

Leicester City Women were founded in 2004 as an independent club, with no formal link to the men's Foxes, and rose fast — four successive promotions in their first four seasons carried them from the Leicestershire County League up to the second tier of the women's game by 2008. For 16 years the club was run by volunteers and part-time staff, moving between borrowed grounds before settling at Quorn's Farley Way Stadium. The turning point came in 2020, when King Power — the men's club's owners — acquired the team, turning it fully professional. That backing quickly paid off: managed by Jonathan Morgan and with club legend Emile Heskey as ambassador, Leicester won promotion to the Women's Super League for the first time, sealing it with a Championship-record 12-game winning streak.
