Worcester City Women FC
Worcester City Women are one of the few fully independent, female-owned clubs in English football. They were founded in 2021 by Nicole Allison, a Worcester native who had completed an MSc in Football Business, worked with the English Football League and risen to general manager at Tottenham Hotspur Women before returning to her hometown to build something different. Structured as an independent, self-sustaining club that runs without relying on a men's team's budget, Worcester City Women put grassroots development and community engagement at their core, built around the RISE ethos — Respect, Inspiring, Successful, Exceptional. On the pitch they won their league in 2023/24 to secure promotion into the fourth tier of the FA Women's National League — the highest level any Worcester football club has reached — with a clear, ambitious roadmap to keep climbing the pyramid.
